OUR TEAM
Dr. Shalini is owner of Progressive EyeCare and a passionate Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. She examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages all visual system and associated systemic conditions and diseases. Dr. Shalini began in Indiana where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Indiana School of Optometry. She has worked in a multitude of diverse settings in Ohio and now in Houston. She gained a deeper understanding of ocular disease during her tenure at Baylor College of Medicine. There she had the opportunity to treat and manage the indigent population. Overall, she believes in comprehensive medical optometry. On her free time, she loves being a “kid” with her two boys. Mom, Dad and the two boys love travelling and taking road trips.
Dr. Dao is our amazing licensed optometrist and certified glaucoma specialist. Her caring, personable and detail-oriented skills make her an outstanding eye doctor. She graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed her externships at Fort Worth Community Eye Clinic and South Texas VA in San Antonio. She also fulfilled her residency in primary care and ocular disease at the Eye Care Center of New Jersey.
Dr. Dantin is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Dantin received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College Of Optometry. She completed a clinical internship at Lackland Air Force Base-San Antonio, where she provided routine eye care and LASIK/PRK management for both active duty and retired military members. Dr. Dantin completed a second clinical internship at Northeastern State University-Oklahoma College of Optometry where she received advanced training in ocular disease treatment and cataract surgical management. She received a clinical Letter of Excellence while in school and became certified in ophthalmic laser procedures. Dr. Dantin practices medical optometry, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, contact lens fittings, and LASIK and cataract management. She is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association. Dr. Dantin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts, and traveling. She is a sports enthusiast and loves watching Texas A&M football, the Houston Rockets, and the Houston Astros.
Vanessa is our lively front desk receptionist & Optometric assistant who cares for every patient at Progressive EyeCare.
Esther is our fantastic Optometric assistant on the weekends at our office & currently a 3rd year optometry student at UHCO. She brings her smile and helpful nature to Progressive EyeCare.
Priscilla is our committed & hardworking Optometric assistant who is always available to meet our patients’ optical needs.
Our Doctors and Staff are multilingual and chances are high we speak your language….otherwise we will Rosetta Stone it 🙂
