OUR TEAM
Dr. Shalini is owner of Progressive EyeCare and a passionate Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. She examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages all visual system and associated systemic conditions and diseases. Dr. Shalini began in Indiana where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Indiana School of Optometry. She has worked in a multitude of diverse settings in Ohio and now in Houston. She gained a deeper understanding of ocular disease during her tenure at Baylor College of Medicine. There she had the opportunity to treat and manage the indigent population. Overall, she believes in comprehensive medical optometry. On her free time, she loves being a “kid” with her two boys. Mom, Dad and the two boys love travelling and taking road trips.
Dr. Christina Huynh is our amazing licensed therapeutic Optometrist who specializes in eye health and vision care. She graduated from Houston Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry Molecular Biology. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville, Kentucky. Following graduation, she completed a residency with an emphasis in Ocular Disease at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. During her time in optometry school, Dr. Huynh served as Student Ambassador for the university and as President of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society. Her most fulfilling experiences were in volunteering on two international medical mission trips and locally with Remote Area Medical clinics where she provided eye care to underserved communities. Dr. Huynh has been affiliated with the field of optometry since 2002, where she began working as an optometric technician prior to her optometric education. When Dr. Huynh is not at work, she enjoys playing piano at her church and spending time with family.
Alheli our charismatic clinic coordinator, dedicated to providing exceptional service at Progressive EyeCare. With over a decade of experience in the optometry field and fluent in both English and Spanish, Alheli is skilled at ensuring every patient receives personalized care and attention. She enthusiastically welcomes new faces and is dedicated to assisting individuals with their needs. Outside of work, Alheli enjoys spending quality time with her family.
Matt is our whimsical optometric assistant for Progressive Eyecare. He is in optometry school learning the ins and outs of vision care. He loves understanding patient-specific vision needs and how to address them. In his free time, he enjoys working out at the gym and trying out new restaurants.
