Dr. Shalini is the owner of Progressive EyeCare. She is a passionate Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. She examines, diagnoses, treats and manages all visual system and associated systemic conditions and diseases. Dr. Shalini began in Indiana where she earned her Doctorate of Optometry at Indiana School of Optometry. She has worked in a multitude of diverse settings in Ohio and now in Houston. She gained a deeper understanding of ocular disease during her tenure at Baylor College of Medicine. There she had the opportunity to treat and manage the indigent population. Overall, she believes in comprehensive medical optometry. During her free time, she loves being a “kid” with her two boys. Mom, Dad and the two boys love traveling and taking road trips.
Dr. Chen is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. He was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and graduated Cum Laude with Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology at the University of Texas at Austin. He later went on to earn his Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed his externship at Good Neighbor and Hope Community Clinic. His main focus is giving quality primary eye care and patient education. He routinely manages dry eye syndrome, ocular surface diseases, and fitting various contact lenses. Dr. Chen is also able to speak fluent Cantonese. In his free time, he enjoys working out, playing basketball, and hanging out with his family and friends.
Dr. Godward is licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She grew up in Georgetown, Texas, and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southwestern University. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree.
She completed an externship at a private practice in Austin providing primary eye care, dry eye treatment, and fitting a variety of contact lenses. Her second externship was at a community clinic in Dallas, with an emphasis on ocular disease diagnosis and management. She is excited to be a part of the Progressive Eye Care family and looks forward to providing excellent personalized care to members of the community. In her spare time, She enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Zelda. They love hiking, traveling, and trying new foods.

Dr. Dao is our amazing licensed Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. Her caring, personable, and detail-oriented skills make her an outstanding eye doctor. She graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry and completed her externships at Fort Worth Community Eye Clinic and South Texas VA in San Antonio. She also fulfilled her residency in primary care and ocular disease at the Eye Care Center of New Jersey.
Vanessa is our energetic Office Manager. She was born and raised in Houston in a family of six. After working in the optometry field for over 8 years now, she plans on continuing to professionally share and execute the gained knowledge with her team members and our patients. Outdoor activities and exploring highly rated eateries with her family is what she enjoys during her time off. Four things that she can’t live without are family, music, corn, and potatoes. Her life motto is “Just brush it off.” A
Megan is our Optometric Assistant who typically works on the weekends. She always has a smile and aims to provide patients with the best care. She is currently a sophomore at UH.

Reshma is our multi-talented Optometric Assistant. She loves taking care of our patients. She is a final year nursing student who loves getting to know others and hear their stories. She spends her free time substituting at local schools, dancing, and finding new eateries.

Kristin is our confident and warm Optometric Assistant. She is an optometry student with a vision to provide personalized eye care. She is excited to meet our patients.
